Über die konkreten Einzelleistungen hinaus bietet die Assoziation den Anschluss an ein Netz von WissenschaftlerInnen und PraktikerInnen in derzeit 16 Ländern, die einen grossen Erfahrungspool zum Themenbereich 'Sprache-Kultur-Austausch' bilden.

Sie füllen einen kurzen Antrag aus und stellen eine Selbstdarstellung der Einrichtung zusammen, wobei Sie schon vorhandene Berichte, Vorlesungsverzeichnisse usw. verwenden können und nur gemäss dem Leitfaden zu ergänzen brauchen. Der Antrag muss von einer zeichnungsberechtigten Person unterschrieben sein, üblicherweise dem/r DirektorIn, LeiterIn des Fachbereichs u.ä.

Dann schicken Sie zwei Exemplare an die Stiftung ein. Wir klären die Aufnahme intern ab und teilen Ihnen das Ergebnis mit. Dann überweisen Sie die Gebühr und erhalten das Material.

Falls Sie noch nicht 'Tandem gefahren' sind, ist die Teilnahme an einem Tandem-Einführungskurs oder die Lektüre des Selbstlernpakets sinnvoll.

Membership in the Academic Advisory Board

You are interested in the "Tandem Foundation Association", created for universities and similar learning institutions which don't offer language courses open to the general public, but which would like to implement within the institution itself, or in exchange programs, the Tandem system.

* Use of the material developed by the Tandemu Network, without paying royalties to the authors: 

+ the series of articles contained in the 'Info-Mat-Packet.'

+ Suggestions for "Tandem Partners" who practice the languages of German, Arabic, Spanish, French, English, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish and Basque (photocopied material and diskettes).

+ Suggestions for text comprehension by professional Tandem-partners in German, Spanish, French, English, Italian (photocopied material, some diskettes).

* Participation in Foundation training seminars for two thirds of the regular price and the option of jointly organising said courses.

* Participation of all employees (including those who have been contracted on an hourly basis) in the language courses of the approximately 30 TANDEM schools throughout the world, with a 20% discount.

* Collaboration with university students and doctoral candidates who are working with the subject of Tandem as well as providing them with access to professional training positions.

* Professional orientation by means of the research register and access to our material (library and long distance photocopying service).

* The possibility of organising the "Tandem International Conference" at one's own school.

* Free subscription to the "TANDEM-Neuigkeiten" bulletin, which is published three times a year (mostly German).

* Rapid information about our research, as well as other, projects; consultancy and service for making contacts.

* The right to use the Tandem trademark and to declare one's status as "Member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Tandem Foundation".

Apart from these specific services, the association offers connection to a network of scientists and professors, for the moment in eleven countries, who have an extensive range of experience in the area of cultural and language exchange.

The applyment can be made in the following practical manner:

You complete a short  form as well as a description of your institution, for which already existing reports can be used after being adapted to the guidelines given. Said form should be signed by an authorised person, normally by the managing director or by the director of a school or department. The forms should then be sent to the Foundation. We will handle the question of admission internally and will let you know the decision. As soon as we receive notice that the payment of the quota has been deposited we will send the didactic material.

If you have had no experience with the Tandem method it would be a good idea to participate in a Tandem introductory seminar or read the Self Study package.
